About the Artist

I make photographs by slowing down.

For me, photography has never been about chasing moments or collecting images. It begins with presence—with standing still long enough for light, land, and life to reveal themselves without being forced. The work emerges from patience, restraint, and a willingness to wait until the photograph becomes inevitable rather than constructed.

Over more than four decades, this way of seeing has shaped my life behind the camera. I have worked as a photographer, editor, and visual storyteller for publications and institutions including National Geographic Society, Smithsonian, Nikon, and Texas Highways Magazine, where I served as Photo Editor. Those experiences taught me not only how to make photographs, but how to recognize the difference between an image that impresses and one that endures.

My fine art work is rooted in landscapes and wildlife, often shaped by water, movement, atmosphere, and quiet transitions. I am drawn to places where boundaries soften—where land meets water, where motion reveals life, and where weather and light partially veil what lies beneath. These are not images made to explain a place, but to invite reflection within it.

I don’t photograph to dominate a scene or extract something from it. I return, observe, and allow the photograph to take form on its own terms. That same philosophy carries through to the final print. Each piece is produced as a museum-grade, limited edition work, hand-finished, signed, and printed on archival materials designed to last for generations. The print is not a reproduction of the photograph—it is the final expression of it.

This work is created for collectors who value emotional depth, technical integrity, and images that continue to unfold over time rather than announce themselves all at once.

I photograph the quiet truth of the places that God has touched.
